Oh... Maybe it's because I had a bad day and am a little emotional; but I think it's the beauty of the writing and the scene that made me tear up reading this. I love the way you have written this. I smiled all the way through and then grinned widely at this:
And so she thanks him. He smiles and nods. She leans forward and bestows a kiss upon his cheek before turning to open the door.
And his hand pushes the door closed, her name tumbling from his lips in a low baritone.
Catherine.
The sound beckons her attention, and she turns to meet his eyes again. As she does, he leans in and gently steals a kiss, breathing in softly through his nose while his hands slide across her waist.
Thanks, Jac! Your fic really brightened my day, so I'm happy to hear I was able to deliver a bit of that back.
I've really missed writing these two. And, I've realized when I do write them, I pretty much just stay in this little four-year "safety zone," lol, where stuff hadn't been wrecked for me yet.
Unless, of course, I'm in the mood for angst. Gotta love the angst with these two.
I still love these two so much - I can't help it. I know what you mean. No matter how irreparably they've been damaged, I can't help but get all fluttery about them still :D
Oh, this was perfect. You captured them, and I miss that. I miss them. Thank you for that lovely little piece. I also love the touches of humour thrown in (tarantula, late to work). It made it feel real.

And no worries on catching up with BtS -- that fic's been at a stand-still for about 5 years or so, lol. I'm just posting what I've got, hehe. ♥
