I've been toying with adding more to this, but I'm super nervous about writing in this fandom for some reason. This is sort of me dipping a toe in to test the temperature.
Thank you again!

I admit, first time I read a fic where Mary didn't approve, but you made it make so much sense!
I want a sequel, I need a sequel...ok, that sounded demanding, please imagine me saying it politely, only because I loved this one I would love to read more :)

I'm glad this Mary works for you. I was kinda worried people would just go, "No way. I can't subscribe to this idea" and backspace out of the fic like it was going out of style. Thank you for staying!!

SPN is pretty intimidating to dip toes into, I'll totally agree. It's like having the Winchesters wagging fingers (or sawed offs, rather) at you going 'You better not fuck this up'.
Also, as a commenter above stated, this is probably the first fic I've read where Mary blatantly didn't approve. And while I'd never really given it concrete thought, yeah, her stance totally makes since in context. She's got more the hunter mentality than I think even John does. She'd definitely have a prejudice.
"I'm not giving him up. Can you still love me, momma?"
That. That right there.

I think I'm mostly intimidated by the size of the fandom. It's huuuge! I heard there are also ship wars, or something like that, and I've never experienced one so I was kinda concerned. *sheepish*
For Mary I visualize her with a lifetime subscription to the hunter mindset, even if she's no longer a card carrying member. So that's mostly how she developed in this fic. I'm glad this interpretation didn't turn you off the fic!
And... ICON! :D

I'm sure it's been on other stuff, but this is the first time I'm seeing that.
And hoshit, YEAH it did *sporfle*

This was mostly written, I guess, as a thought exercise on how Mary would react to finding out about Dean and Cas, considering how she grew up in a family of hunters and probably has a natural suspicion of anything inhuman. I have this ridiculously involved back story for her in this AU, and I imagine that, if she had gotten to know the dickishness of angels when she was a hunter like Dean does in the series, her views of them would probably be less than favorable. And, wow, that is one inarticulate explanation trying to masquerade as a sentence. Sorry about that. I'm not very good at this writing out my thoughts thing, at all. XD
Thank you, thank you again!
