Book update

Jul 24, 2008 10:03

I feel almost silly doing this, but hey, if George R.R. Martin (grrm) and Naomi Novik (naominovik) can post book updates on their LJ's, then heck, so can I.

Learning ASP.NET 3.5 is at the printer, and due out next week, so that's pretty exciting.

Learning C# 2008 (that title may change) is going into Production shortly. I finished the last draft chapter ( Read more... )

Well hey, you can't be that busy. You're the one of only two Flisters o' mine that's bothered to post anything in the last 36 hours.

Next week, I think. I'm thinking about the living room and dining room...and maybe extending the tour to the family room, if there's sufficient demand.

I'll come to the tour if you promise to keep that....thing/fish away from me. It scares me.

It's a type of anglerfish, I'm pretty sure (a fact that Sparky noted the first time he saw it). There's a bit on the last page of every O'Reilly book explaining exactly what the animal is, and they showed it to me, but I can't lay my hands on it right now. I thought it was somewhat scary for a "Learning" title, which is supposed to be reader-friendly, but Jesse thinks it's awesome. Of course, authors never get any say in the matter.

(Is that a new icon? What is it? I can't make it out.)

What might "Learning C# 2008" change to? That title seems to say it all.

And congratulations!

Well, Microsoft sometimes calls it "C# 2008," but more often calls it "C# 3.0," so there's still some discussion. I can't really relate said discussion here, or my own preferences, but I'm just saying it might change.
