Right, this one is really random: So you call some big company for customer service, like the phone company or the cable company or your health insurance provider. Is it static? Or a kind of weird digital sound? That's usually a VoIP problem.

It's not something I'd categorize as a "weird digital sound," no. It' not exactly like radio static, either; it's not as sharp. It's closer to the sound of someone blowing over a live microphone.
