Back on the ship

I've been pretty sick this week. It's really just a cold, but it's a cold with enough sinus pain to make it almost impossible to sit up at my desk. Lying down is the only thing that helps. You know it's bad when your head hurts too much to play a computer game. But this isn't a "give me sympathy" post. It's an explanation for why I spent the ( Read more... )

Elora isn't the only one -- we have several friends who walked away. N is still really into it, but we're three episodes behind at the moment because I just can't get myself into the right frame of mind to watch the damn things. Depressing, yep.

I do the weekly hot hot BSG injection thing. I don't even know what to say about the last two episodes. They were LIQUID AWESOME. I mean, if you're gonna end your show, you should end your show LIKE THIS. TOTALLY CARNAGE.

"Liquid Awesome" -- I like that. Raises the question, though: what is the state of room-temperature Awesome? If it's a solid, which is logical for "ten pounds of Awesome in a five-pound bag," then Liquid Awesome is Awesome that is also hot, or perhaps hawt. If room-temperature Awesome is a gas, then Liquid Awesome is Awesome that's very, very cool. I could see it going either way.

The week wait between the last two was kinda awesome, in my book. I have a co-worker that watches, too, and all week long we would randomly yell across the office, "I'M COMING FOR ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!"

Is it just me, or did this recent double bill seem to imply that the Battlestar is now staffed by about twenty people?

It's not just you. Battlestarwiki had a problem with it too. Were the mutineers in the majority, a small minority, or what? Evidenly Mr. Moore believes the Galactica to be undermanned at the moment, but that doesn't mesh with the fact that they have crew remnants from two battlestars to work with, not to mention all the refugees. One of the final scenes from the last episode, though, certainly implies that they're either badly understaffed, or else the maintenance crews are a bunch of slackers.

I've recently started watching a lot of television via bit.torrent, and the more I watch entire seasons of shows at once, the less I can tolerate the wait between episodes for shows I'm keeping up with live.

It's not a problem for 30Rock, Numb3rs, CSI and House, because they're just silly little shows with no real plot continuity to speak of anyway. But Burn Notice and BSG in particular are aggravating.
