Code Monkey like Fritos...

My apologies to those who've already seen this on jacquilynne's LJ, but I need to share it with the non-overlapping part of my booming readership. jamused, I was specifically thinking of your plight this week when I heard this song last Friday. (The video has some rough edits to it -- and some Language -- but it's the best I can find on YouTube.) It's been stuck in my head for most of the weekend -- in fact, I was humming it on my way in your front door yesterday.

This song has been following me around for a while. I first saw the machinima version made with World of Warcraft some months ago -- a really well-made video by the way, and it uses the electric studio edit of the track, so it's worth watching just for that. I saw the ukulele remix version last Friday, although darned if I can remember where I saw the link. And then Jacquilynne linked it this morning, so I thought I'd reached critical mass. (Oh, and if you're really nuts, here's the a cappella version too, but the sound quality's a bit rough.)

But we're not done! I was interested enough in the song to find out who the artist is -- Jonathan Coulton, whose name sounded familiar. So I skipped on over to his web site, and it's the same Jonathan Coulton who did the acoustic version of "Baby Got Back" that the Internet liked so much a year or so ago. This guy's got talent to burn, and prodigious output, all of which you can sample -- check out his songs page. On top of all that, he's performing in Ardmore next Friday. If the universe is going to whack me this hard with the Subtlety Club, I'd better buy a ticket.
