I would like apologize for my state

Nov 07, 2006 23:18

I'm sorry everyone. The state of Wisconsin seems to prefer bigotry and hatred of homosexuals to the principles of, "All men are created equal..."

I didn't support it.

I'm so ashamed of this state right now.

I was so hoping that we could beat this thing. With Tammy Baldwin and other progressives in the state. Apparently not enough.

Yeah, I spent some time volunteering with Fair Wisconsin last week and they were convinced that it would be very close. WTF happened? At least we're not looking at 80% yes votes like in Tennessee.

The best we can say is...we're less densely populated with bigots than some states?

that's all right. we retained our hose beast governor here in the frozen north. yeah, the one that said that he would support bush even if his approval rating was at 2%. nice.

We did what we could; but some folks are just so damned scared by differentness that the Joe McCarthy side of Wisconsin prevailed over the Frank Zeidler side.

(BTW: thanks for the nice things you said on RPGnet a while back, about Renaissance Books. Praise, while not edible, still makes the poverty of working retail a little less painful.)
