i so totally identify with what you have written sweets. that is why when pple ask me "so... are u seeing anyone right now?" or "so... are u dating right now?"... my most honest reply wld be "hmmm... my answer will necessarily depend on what dating exactly means to you".

cos a question set on an unestablished premise what the word 'dating' or 'seeing' means (and given the ambiguities/complexities that exists and unravels in our everyday life these days), i'd rather give an honest reply that i hadn't had the faintest idea what 'dating' or 'seeing' means to the person posing the question.
