Adventures in Dogsitting - an Update

I haven't dogsat in a bit so I thought I'd place an ad on Craigslist. The ad specifically said "no birds". Remember this part...

will you housesit my chickens for three months? And other adventures in advertising on craigslist )

christmas, adventures in dogsitting

*blinks*

*blinks again*

Are people really as dumb as I think they are or do they practice to be such asshats?

Actually, I'd bet that some of those are the smarter ones.

Yeah, there were a couple I only said "no thanks" to. One was for three macaws and another was for some sort of parrot. The ad says "no birds" but i guess people take it to mean that "no birds except mine" or something.

IDK, craigslist makes me lose what little faith in humanity I had left.

Oh, people are just as dumb. The sad bit is that I summed up in one sentence what it took about 4 emails to say. That's the scary part. The whole thing is just frustrating as crap.

Also - random but not really *love* for you and your ability to see right through me.

I've never ventured onto Craigslist - now I'm not sure if I should stay away or venture on just for the lolz. :D

Craigslist can be really funny to laugh AT. The personals area is especially entertaining. The men seeking men area has quite a few ads that are extremely similar to -

I'm in the area for tonight only. My dick is 59 inches long. Who wants to suck it? Email me now! I'm at this hotel at this location in room whatever.

Those make me giggle.

Another ad I placed was for some comic books and one of the responses was "do you have any x comics. I see you don't list that you have any you want to get rid of but I'm looking for it. I'll pay you two dollars!" um, thanks but no thanks. A.) I don't have it. B.) If I had it, I would've listed it. C.) The comic he was requesting was selling for about $100 bucks on eBay.

Yeah, there were a couple. I got a couple of responses from people that were reasonable and logical. A couple of people asking if I would do some pocket pets and stuff. One lady had like 20 ferrets and I was all "yesplzkthxnow!!!".

But, mainly, it's the crazies.

Wow. You're right--how could you turn down offers like that?

I'm cat sitting for someone right now and it's definitely killing me on gas. :/

I know, right? Silly me but I thought it would be rude to hold on to all of these people. Share the wealth and all that.

Yeah, it's the gas that really kills me for some of these. I live 30 miles from work so I already use a lot but add in driving all over town and it gets to be a bit much for a pittance. That's why I'm turning down the cheaper ones. I just cannot afford to do it. Especially as I've already had a couple of people not pay me for part of the sitting. Like - I show up at their house and only half the pay is there and then I never get the second half. It totally torques me.

Hi this is Wook, your friendly dogsitter.

Just wanted to tell you that Lulu and I are at the park. Call me when you get this. I'll bring Lulu back and pick up the balance of my fee.

I prefer cash.

Love and kisses....
