Thank you for sharing. However, as I have written many times (and lost friends because of my views) if the marriage equality for gays is left to the voting population, we will never see ringed fingers symbolizing marriage on gays and lesbians. Change has got to come about with the courts.
Still, I am hopeful that we can get equality based on partnerships. I, for one, do not need the word "marriage" to justify my existence with The Mister. But others do want that word for their relationships, and I hope that they can get what they want.
I agree. And going further, the problem is the country has total ignored the premise of the 1st Amendment concerning laws respecting the establishment of religion. Religious cults organizations are constantly arguing that marriage is between one man and one woman as established in the bible and the laws regarding marriage should reflect such. Well that would be a law respecting the establishment of religion
