Sending big bear hugs. I understand what it is like to mark that sort of loss... in my case my biological father... May his memory live strongly in you, and through your actions in the greater Leather community.

And You've really hit it: in my contemplation today, i've realized just how MUCH He helped me grow and how everything i do within the community i do with the thought of how He would do it and if He would be proud of His boy's actions. i continue to draw my strength from Him and will continue to do so. One of the hardest things I encountered emotionally when my father died was the thought that one of the ways he was going to live on was through me and through my actions. Shortly after he died, my Mom and I and a couple friends saw the Lion King. A couple of song really hit home and hit a strong emotional cord for me, one of which was "He/They Live in You":

They live in you
They live in me
They're watching over
Everything we see
In every creature
In every star
In your reflection
They live in you

and the other was "Circle of Life":

In the Circle of Life

It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place

By living on wards... keeping it going... they live through us and by us... and we are the next step in the Circle of Life... *HUGS*
