It's a flowering pear tree...i guess i wasn't clear since i'd said we'd "found a nice flowering pear", but no matter. It's fun and Matt's happy.

That iris is STUNNING!!!! I must get some... they'd go really well with my blue ones!

Did they mention staking the tree, at the garden center? I think it's for support, while the roots establish a hold.

The sycnronicity of a new tree and new puppies :)

Staking the tree is only needed if there are wind issues, if so you can do a ground steak by building a 2x4 square near the trunk and driving anchors though that (2-3 ft) then no cords to trip over.

I, too, would like to know what tree it is?

Hey! You brush your pet's teeth!
Good for you!

I've been brushing cats' teeth since 2001.

we "found a nice flowering pear", and we decided to get the kids used to the toothpaste.

I like pear trees. There was one at the house that I grew up in when I was a kid.

If I get another cat someday, I'll start brushing his or her teeth when they are very young, too.

I like doing stuff to keep my pets healthy.

I'm glad you two do that, too!
