As an asthmatic, I feel your pain...I hope the meds kick in sooner rather than later. I don't know if your doctor told you but, depending on what kind of inhaler it is, the meds can sometimes take a couple of weeks to take effect (steroid inhalers, especially)...don't give up on it!
Take care of yourself and get well soon!!! *hug*
Edited to add: Ventolin inhalers are for fast and short-term relief...if that's what you were given and you're not getting a break, definitely talk to the doc because you might need something else. :(
I've had asthmatic bronchitis many times, for a while I would get it every winter (sometimes twice a winter). Avelox worked quite well but I was also given prednisone (for 10 days),singulair (which worked quite well for me), and advair. Usually there was an immediate improvement--mostly a big boost from the prednisone followed by help from the singulair and advair.
At one point I was given the antibiotic Biaxin (or something similar) which worked well but left a bitter taste in my mouth while I was on it.
no...you know me: i always post a day later (the hipstamatic shot live from the office yesterday was an exception). But it was never a classic, raw sore throat. But more achy like muscles and difficulty swallowing. the fact that it's the tonsils answers so many mysteries...now i know what i'm up against.
