You know...

I have The Alan Parsons Project's "Eve", as well as "Turn of a Friendly Card", "I, Robot", and "Eye in the Sky" on vinyl -- and I can't say I know many people that really appreciate them for how wonderful they are.

Sharing an album like Eve with someone is a good thing; something oft forgotten, sadly... but it is a nugget of wonderful.

I noticed at the end of "Champagne Supernova" during the guitar solo, the volume of the music gets louder & louder then when the song slowly ends, the volume gets lower & lower.
LOL!!! We had cool grandmothers with good taste. She bought you "Dark Side Of The Moon", mine bought me "Mothership Connection" by Parliament.
Yeah I remember the MTV "True Blue" contest. They pick the wrong video as the winner. But the album has a place in my heart, it was released during my senior year in High School.
"Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn" ah, "Rapper's Delight" 1979, the record that started it all. All rappers should bow down to the Sugarhill Gang. I'll never forget when we first heard it on a AM radio station, a song that made my friends stop playing street football. Classic memories.
What a great post Woofer. Thanks for sharing your private memories with us.
HUGS!!!

Yesterday while picking up prescriptions at the pharmacy I heard "Bluer Than Blue" by Michael Johnson. This song came out sometime in the late-70s & my dad & I used to sing it together when in the car. A few years later when my parents divorced, this song became even more poignant for him. Since the divorce was caused largely by his drinking, I don't have a lot of fond memories of my dad during the earliest years of my life but singing along with him a special selection of late-70s soft rock while cruising down the road with him in any of our "family fleet**" at the time is one of them. I think one of these days I should make a special list of songs for dad, songs for mom, etc. It would be some list.

**Family Fleet: 1970 Corvette Stingray convertible, 1976 Cadillac Seville, 1972 Pontiac Catalina Safari
