I love the mood and tones of the first one.

On the first one, i set my little gorillapod up the sidewalk on a covered passage. i am actually walking up an incline. The second is just hanging on a door handle of a closed up shop. That little gorillapod (joby.com) can latch on to just about anything!

You can't beat that light, but it can be tricky to capture, especially with a little point-n-shoot.
