Yeah, things don't always turn out the way you think they will. i've had to do some creative bookkeeping to keep things going, but it's all working out.
Hey, I've been to Fuessen before. Can't say that I remember that corner though. I do remember walking around the town, and the trek up to the castle. Very cool. Would love to get back there...maybe some day.
i think it was near the end of the Romantic Road near the church. It was definitely a highlight of our vacation...it was worth it just to see Matt's eyes light up when he saw all these new things and places.
And to think you two were there at the same time as us! zwei radler bitte! Damn I love going home to Munchen, and my crazy cousins. We're going back this summer for 3 weeks in August and September. Now question, Even here in Portland I find that the folks in Europe are much more accepting than in the states, how did you find Germany when you two were there?
Why are you going at the height of vacation season? i can't stand the crowds or the traffic. Matthew loved it and had a great time. Like i was saying earlier, it was a joy seeing his face light up with alll the wonders he got to see for the first time. For me, i'd lived there for 13 of the previous 20 years, so i knew my way around and spoke the language, so i was able to take him to places off the beaten track. Yes, it's so much nicer there. *sigh*
One word---Oktoberfest! My relatives live right near Theresienweise, so I can hop on the U-Bahn and stumble home. Also we're going hiking for a week in Lauterbrunnen Valley.

Oh goodness. You just described ALL of my college and grad school financial "planning". I'm STILL paying off those debts...
