Hehee!!! Oh, the Sesame Street Classics are the best...like Kermit singing another alphabet song with Ladysmith Black Mambazo in a Post-Graceland fervor. Though that's a newer classic. I still love..."La la la la -- lightbulbs. La la la la -- lemons. La la la la -- lampposts. La la la la (dramatic crescendo) LUMP IN MY OATMEAL!!!" -- or something to that effect, sung by ol' buddy Burt.

There's so many I could gleefully sing for you now...but you already know. How come our hubbies don't? I think they just missed that generation. Feh. Old farts, is what.

Hmmm...which makes me wonder how your LC is gonna like Sprout's B-day present...hmmm... Heh.

Good luck!

The L.C. just doesn't like musicals in general, alas! I've been trying to convert him for years...

Huh! Somehow I never thought of Sesame Street as a musical. But, well duh -- now that you mention it -- but I guess that comes of thinking that singing everything in life as it comes along is a perfectly normal every-day thing to do. You'd be *amazed* at how often TMHM and I break into song about whatever ridiculous antics the critters are up to, or about the dishes in the sink, or about whether the dust bunnies are bigger than the actual bunny, or whether or not we can remember where all the spare bedsheets got to. Hell, we sing about the cat's *hairballs*. "Cat Yack Fever..." I shit thee not.

But, well, you always knew we were an odd lot, so this shouldn't be particularly shocking... (grin)

Hmm.

Until I read the tags, "alien husband" wasn't what I was getting from this story...

Good! I think you're right, he wasn't laying any claim to being alien himself -- just noting his... open-mindedness? I'm the one who thinks he's an alien sometimes. :)

Hmmm. Maybe "open-minded" would be a better descriptor. :)

Until I read "alien husband," I completely thought that he was implying that the people who wrote Sesame Street were aliens...
