Someday my Kobliczek will come

*grump*

No alto recorder yet. VH already sold their secondhand Kobliczek and EMS doesn't seem to want to answer email regardless of whether sent to their Used Instrument Agency or directly to their sales department.

No sopranino, either, because I stupidly only *doubled* the then-current high bid rather than tripling it before going to bed ( Read more... )

Have you been able to try anyone's Mollenhauer Dream recorders? I have a (wooden) soprano one that I really like - mello tone, easy price.

Of course, I also have a Kobliczek alto, which IS a dream.

(Yes, I taunt you with my Kobliczek alto!!)

And, BTW, if you ever run into him (especially at Pennsic), Master Remus Fletcher has an entire Kobliczek set (well, SAT anyway). Like Buttah!

I've heard the Mollenhauers and liked them, but I did want to go for the Kobliczek consort effect -- as you say, that's just SCHWEEET! :) Now if only I had enough hands and enough air to play them all at once... mwahahaha!

And yeah, I'm still jealous over other people's instruments and cranky about that auction. :)

And yes, that sopranino final bid mocks you as well. Argh!

Bien sûr! It just seemed like a good time to save myself the ~$150 if at all possible. As soon as EMS actually confirms they've sold theirs (which I believe to be the case), I'll grit my teeth and shell out for a new one.

IKWYM--I completely understand wanting to save money when possible, and I also grok the thrill of the chase (finding the obscure widget of one's dreams on eBay, in a secondhand store, etc.)--but at least there's some consolation in knowing that Kobliczek Praetorius recorders aren't too difficult to find new.

(A propos nothing in particular, I see that EMS has a couple secondhand portative organs.... :-D)

!!!!!

What with my one-track mind, I never even thought to look at their keyboard section... I wonder what the ranges are on those two!

Did you see the "Medieval Bagpipes with carved animal's head by Brian Tolley"? :)

Speaking of mocking your pain...

Oh c'mon! (how soon they forget!)

How could you NOT remember my incredible enthusiasm for the recorder!

Ah, right, silly me...

Tell you what -- I'll get it back to you faster than I got Jim's rackett back to him, ok? ;)
