I wanted the pretty flash animation too. :(

I've been trying to get the Daemon bit up for two days now, and I just can't seem to make it work (the coding they emailed me is wonky, as is the link to my original profile page).

ETA: kevinarcher fixed it for me! ( Look! )

Yay cats! We both seem to have morphed already, though... :)

What I did was hit the "embed media" button on the post page, and then put in the code I got from the website.

I got an ocelot, too, but they didn't send me the e-mail…

I think you had to choose that as an option -- it's probably just as well that you didn't, as cutting and pasting the code directly from the website seems to have worked infinitely better for most people.

I did choose the e-mail as an option - but it still hasn't arrived!

The friend who just fixed my coding for me referred to their set-up as "SOAP", so I suspect it's their error rather than yours. :( You might have to try again, though.

I got a hare. Turned you into a tiger. I'm amused.

Good game, no? Their marketing people definitely deserve a bonus, although I'm not sure the same holds true for the programmers. :)

Considering I've seen the thing in blogspace preambled with "I don't know what the Golden Compass is, but...", I'd say the marketing effort was quite well done.

I have a low opinion of Flash programs in general, so I'm afraid I'm only surprised when they're actually good. Big marketing firms like them because they help protect content and are, well, flashy. Consistent, navigable, user friendly... marketing types only expect to have a small slice of our attention anyway.
