I turned off my central heating in my flat last Wednesday, the 14th May. I hope it says warm enough so that I do not need to turn it on again until September, or even October.

It's warm and sunny here in Preston today, and for the first time this year I'm wearing a short-sleeved shirt and no jacket or coat when outdoors. The forecast was for a maximum of 17 degrees centigrade (about 63 degrees fahrenheit).

Today I'm 65 years old. I don't feel that age.

That's because Stacey is in prison. Last Monday she was sentenced to two years and eight months. It would have been four years but she got a reduction of one-third because she pleaded guilty at the first opportunity. Because we love each other and want to spend the rest of our lives together, Stacey and I are going to get married in my local Catholic church, hopefully in March 2014.
