- So this morning I totally dreamed that bb_shousetsu was a host club in addition to a BL mag. There was a decorative golden cage (JUST DECORATIVE OKAY) with a pretty boy space case (seriously, he was not even in Earth's orbit) lounging inside on cushions. There were dead-tree versions of the mag stacked up around the outside of the cage, and he was browsing ( Read more... )

Korra looks so badass! I can't wait for this series!

I've gotten into Skip Beat recently and I adore it! I even wrote about my love for Kyoko as part of an International Women's Day post.

I'm way behind on Skip Beat (and pretty much everything else I follow s-sob) but it's one of my forever loves. ♥ It's so refreshing! So rare to have a shoujo manga that treats a heroine's friendships with other ladies and her ambitions and interests as being just as important (well, more important, really) as her romantic interest in men. also lesbian subtext ftw \o/

Korra has sum MANLY SHOULDERS.
(It made me completely forget her gender.)
I want to dig my thumbs in there and rub them.

@ above: OH GOOD, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE FEELING LIKE A PERV. She's like those wadaiko players I drool over. I'm kind of curious about what the cars/motorcycles will look like, though, since they mentioned it in that interview.

I really need to take a look at Ooku, it sounds up my alley of interests. I've heard of quite a few of your other recs (and have one), but there's some I haven't so it's search time! :D IWD is just in time to make myself a birthday list, haha.

Ooku is v. different, and somewhat heavier than I'd usually prefer, but it's really good, and gorgeous too. (It was the first manga to win the Tiptree award!)

Oh, which one of my recs do you have? :D

Yeah, the Tiptree award is how I first heard about it, iirc. I'll have to see if my mom has a copy in where she works.

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. :3 I have the second book in that series, too, but I need to reread it to figure out what I was iffy on.

THIS WHOLE ENTRY IS AWESOME. :D

Also don't worry I am pretty sure everyone knows Korra is hot stuff. The target age for this show is actually higher than the first one, too! So it's... less creepy? >_>

Awesome lady things, UM. I recently read Skim by Mariko Tamaki and it is really amazingly beautiful. It's about growing up, screwing up, coming to terms with your sexuality, trying to fit in, trying to not fit in, all that. I don't think I have ever seen something so organically adolescent. The art is gorgeous too, aaaah.

OOO, Jillian Tamaki did the art, I love her!
