can't... stop... watching...

So. True Blood. Addictive, inn't? I'm halfway through the second season and I've only been watching it for the past three days. It's almost CLAMP-like in its ability to keep you watching to find out what absolutely ridiculously fucked-up thing is about to happen next. It's like a soap opera, only with vampires and crazy ass horror elements and ( Read more... )

True Blood is totally addictive! It's so bad that it's good! And I agree that Sookie and Bill are the most boring characters in the history of the Universe. I pretty much like almost every other character more. Can't wait to see more of Lafayette and the new boyfriend!

Oh good, we share a guilty pleasure that...makes us feel better about liking it because of how ridiculously self-aware it is that it's a guilty pleasure.

I love True Blood. Sookie doesn't bother me, maybe because I read the books and they are narrated by her and I love her inner voice? But Bill, I can't stand Bill. The show, IMO, actually makes him more palatable. In the novels, he ceases to be the main love interest after awhile and Eric sorta squeezes in and all in all, both the show and the books are batshit, omg wut?!, insane. I love it.

It's so addictive, isn't it? I love Lafayette. And Jessica. And Terry Bellefleur. I love lots of them, really.

I like Sookie, even though she's not my favorite. Bill, I have a different opinion on every week. Sometimes I like him (Fresca!) and sometimes I want to punch him. IT VARIES.

True Blood is something I've been meaning to watch but haven't quite got around to. I did try the first book though; I didn't get very far because I kept wanting to slap both the author and the blonde, attractive Sookie (who's blonde, attractive, has perky breasts *bouncebounce*) for major, major logic fail. My god. She's so DUMB. But has perky breasts and blonde hair. *bounce*!

I have no interest in the books b/c a) my favorite character barely has a role and b) I find Sookie and Bill kind of boring, and since the books are from Sookie's first person pov, this makes reading them a bit pointless. I don't think she really comes off as dumb in the show, though; really, really hotheaded, to a dangerous degree, but not dumb.

This seems to happen to me a lot, actually. The main characters aren't all that interesting, but the supporting cast is fascinating. Angel Sanctuary, Harry Potter etc. Setsuna was rather generic, Harry was an arrogant little git. The characters that bounced off them carried the series.
