Summary: Herbert realizes that he's got nowhere else to go, and shows up at Dan's doorstep with little to say, and nothing to really offer. But will Dan take back the man that ruined his life? Or will he send him out into the cold, quiet night.

I was just telling someone the other day how I love post-Beyond reunion fics! Eee! Poor Dan, his bleeding heart and overly-forgiving nature make sure he never rejects Herbert again.

Hmm, since this is Dan POV, I had to wonder if you intended Herbert's helplessness to be truly genuine, or was Herbert intentionally emotionally manipulating Dan?

I actually gave this one a go twice. The first time I made Herbert all manipulative and angry but it wasn't working right at all, so I re-wrote it as him going in intending to manipulate Dan but upon actually seeing him breaking down and showing genuine emotion.

Ehm,actually the Beyond-Re-animator-Herbert increased in weight and is more soft and round than the younger Herbert :-)not more skinny. He might have gotten softer, when it comes to emotions, too.

I thought about that too, but when I wrote it I was planning on writing a sequel to it that explains how Herbert got to Dan's in the first place.

After all, he didn't just walk there in one night. Until he got out of an area where he could be recognized he had to lay very low. I was going to say it took Herbert about three weeks to get to Dan's, since he was unable to take public transit except at night and only in short bursts at a time. :)

...I just haven't gotten around to writing it yet. XD

Have yet to see Beyond, but boy do I love this! The nice thing about splitting Dan and Herbert up is we get to write them getting back together.

Right now I'm considering writing a prologue to it that's about how Herbert got all the way to Dan's doorstep from the prison, so stay tuned! :D
