"The Talk", I send you LOVE in fan fiction form...

Sep 19, 2005 00:57

I wrote this a while ago, but st_minority story "Tell Me You're Here" inspired me to have the courage to share it. Just an alternate universe to mix the bitter with the sweet. I love your writing, but this scene called from my soul one night. It honestly wrote itself (my hand felt possesed) and Mr. Wonka has just told me to post it RIGHT NOW! And, I think ( Read more... )

i like how Wonka knows that he's not a nice person, and will admit it too. ohhh, now i want to know what his bad thoughts are... or do we already know? :D

either way, i really liked this. it's sweet, emotional, and god, their relationship is as cute as a button. the whole scene with charlie describing the hug made want to hug someone, which is really weird considering i am rather uncomfortable with touching people (much like Wonka)...

My favorite part is Wonka going "Sure I do!" "All the time!" - he cracked me up with that. Yeah, I'd like him to tell me what those bad thoughts are too. I have a feeling that some we know (like in the movie) and some are making their way through "Cravings ( ... )

Wow, i envy the faith you have in Charlie's parents. If i were Wonka, and got wind of their suspicions, i'd FREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAK right out. o_o;
Even knowing how much of a good hearted person Mrs. Bucket is, that'd be scary. Good thing the poor guy doesn't know.

I liked this version of her a lot though. I think i like her character a lot in general, but i've always had a bit of parent-phobia myself. (You can imagine why.)

I just adored the ending bit with Wonka and Charlie.
“You don’t have evil thoughts, Mr. Wonka!” Charlie gasped.

“Of course I do!” He shrugged and flipped his hands into the air. “All the time!”
I LOVED THAT! LMFAO. Finally, he admits it! Oh how i wish he said that in the movie.

Thank you for reading Lucifer, it ain't complete without you. theidolhands September 21 2005, 00:40:12 UTC
I do like to play out this scenario with Wonka and I get a lot of different answers. In this version, one can come to the conclusion that he's clueless (except...what *are* those evil thoughts?) and CHARLIE is the one with the 'perversion' or wanting a bit more from his idol than he should (or should he? Wonka is pretty special). I like the switcharoo after all of our other stories. I also like the idea that a guy who is full of wicked thoughts all the time, may have missed just this very one! So, if it were officially presented to him....would he reject it? Would he even understand? user was REALLY on to something with the whole, 'he's in love with his candy' aspect (I'm an artist, I'm guilty of it too). That aspect is there, but then Mr. Wonka really had nothing that loved him back before, did he? Ya see, you can just play this out and out and out. It's very entertaining ( ... )

And you just really fixed my weariness with that review. I was so worried that you wouldn't see the fiction this way; it was more than I hoped for.

A *smile* at love, life, the unknown, and being damaged. "Let's all be damaged! We already are!" - that's exactly what I wanted, you put it succintly into words and action.

Mm, I'm dreadfully late on this one, aren't I? X__x Oh well, I'll still throw in my two cents anyway.

It's been said before, and it will be repeated for as long as you continue to write. You've got a way with words. Your descriptions are fab, each scene was painted so clearly in my mind. That alone kept me reading. We don't even need to go into the superb characterization of the Buckets, or how wonderfully you writ e our dear Mr. Wonka.

We'll see this scenerio done over and over again, each person (attempting) to add their own special twist that makes it their own, but I think I'll be able to say with confidence that your take will be one of the best around.

Mmm, good liquor, good chocolate, good music and good fic, my day just can't get much better.

Put away that pocket watch, there is no such thing as late! theidolhands October 2 2005, 06:05:15 UTC
All comments are welcome, no matter when they are received. I always do the same thing when I find work that I enjoy, I don't care how old it is. I have tracked down artists only a decade after I enjoyed their work and I still find that they appreciate the praise. A work of art should be for all time, if it really is worth it's salt; or in this case cocoa beans.

It's true there are many paths that these two characters could take and I have enjoyed so many interpritaions. I've even found that I can not be limited to one POV myself. And I do like the ones that you've contributed as well!

Here's to making your day even "sweeter".
