A lovely tree, lots of books to read and food to eat. What could be better? I think it's amazing that you actually sung carols. I didn't think anyone did that anymore.
I didn't bother to show pictures of the log fire again this year but it was a very enjoyable atmosphere. As well as nosing through each other's books, we played a new board game (well, new to me) and somebody had a couple of quiz books so there were questions and answers - it was probably noisier than you imagine!
The books ARE lovely - lots and lots of pictures. I was given other books too, including another tome on how to train your PhotoShop! (I need one on how to train LJ - why does the layout of pics look different on the preview to the journal??)
The carols were fun - we had enough noisy people and we were a largely Christian bunch this year so people wanted to celebrate Christmas by singing. It's been about the only time that I've had the chance to play the piano all year so I wasn't complaining! I'm not sure that the sound was all that harmonious though - I think anyone passing might have mistaken us for a chorus of Santa's reindeer :=)
I'm pleased that my (er - your) box of trifles has found its rightful home. I was beginning to despair of that batch of parcels but, now, the two European ones have arrived so perhaps Asia and North America might kindly follow suit!
There are many different kinds of jade occurring naturally but, these days, much of the "fashion" jade is dyed and looks too garish. The bracelet is a natural colour at least. I'm pleased that you like it.
The brainfood spaghetti notebook (ha - anyone else reading this will not be able to visualize the thing!) is to continue your delicious translating and stories (please!). When I was a student I could never get enough notebooks so I'm hoping that the paper-hungry tradition continues ;=)

I did enjoy my (sadly now finished) holiday and our big, old house does look its best at Christmas.
I have a massive collection of tree toys but certainly not including a Tower Bridge and Hungover Ben! I bow to your London style.
Ah - the samurai umbrella is so cool. You can see it here:

It is FAR too special to spoil in the rain :=)
Thanks for your visit here!
