That's so funny (not your kind comment) - I've just finished leaving a message to your birthday entry on your LJ! There's a bit of happy Gackt magic for you.
Ah - Gackt has such an expressive face that it would be hard not to choose a very beautiful and fitting photo, eh? Yes, he looks truly alive here - in keeping with the warm pink colour. Somehow the artificial, embroidered flowers just emphasize the huge extent of his living. It reminds me of the Sun Tzu remark that life expands or contracts in direct proportion to your courage; here, Gackt-san is showing the courage to take on the whole world!
Thanks for checking out my offering. I have so many lovely pics from Japan to use - they will slowly creep out into view.
Yes - I had uploaded my birthday card and had written my LJ post but kept it private till I could hear midnight striking on the clock in our drawing room!
Perhaps I more often start the other way round and let a particular photo suggest itself for the purpose. That was certainly the case with this one: it INSISTED on being Gackt's birthday card.
I know Musashi mainly for his swordwork and martial arts advice - I don't really know his other writing or much about his drawing/calligraphy other than the famous self-portrait which everybody knows. I would like to read the biography called The Lone Samurai but it's just one in a very long list.
Eep! I will cover them with claw-catchers just in case!
