I Am A Camera

Apr 09, 2006 20:40

In honor of my new job, and the anticipated raise (plus my upcoming trip) I bought a new camera today, a Canon a620. While my photos will never have the sheer beauty of the photos of vaneramos or vernnyc I love taking photos.

Here's a few tentative beginning shots.

its not the equipment, its the eye and compostion. Take your time, think about your shots, and you will do well

Love the pic of the kids.....

I am looking at getting the A620 too. Are you finding it to be pocket-able? I wanted more optical zoom, but then they camera would be way too big.

It's not very pocketable, unless you wear something with large pockets. I've only been wearing dockers since then which don't have room for it. However, the camera isn't very heavy so it's been no big deal for me to have it slung around my neck.

I have to tell you I took that picture of the kids for a reason. My friend Nancy has a picture of herself taken as a very young girl (probably the mid 1940's) sitting in front of the fountain on Belle Isle in Detroit, with her hand in a bag of Better Made Potato Chips. I took that picture for her :)

That's the same as my new camera. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. Those are all cool shots. I'm looking forward to experimenting with photographing people, too.
