I mean, granted, one could argue that the constitutional right for a civilian to own firearms was for the expressed purpose of the potential need to form a militia at a moment's notice, thereby rendering said right null and void now that there will never be a need to muster a civilian militia.

Buuuut. "One" has probably also never encountered a dazed god of thunder wandering around in the desert.

Just sayin'.
