:) Salem College

I'm going to Salem in the fall.
Please, throw me all the advice/tips/stories you can on going to a women's college in general, and Salem specifically (I've heard there's at least two Salem Sisters in this community).

Thanks!

Congrats on embarking on a very exciting journey. I just graduated from Salem back in May and am still very much "homesick." Going to a women's college for me was an easy choice, but I know it's not that way for everyone. There were girls at Salem who really didn't appreciate the environment at first and sometimes it took until senior year. I simply preferred letting guys be a weekend thing so I could focus on my school work. My best advice is to look at the women's college environment with an open mind and realize that you still have plenty of opportunities to meet guys ( ... )

Thanks so much!

I'm not sure what I'm going to major in yet... I know French, but I don't know what I'm planning on doing with that.

What did you end up doing with your majors? Carrer-wise? And did you enjoy majoring in English?

I'm perfectly okay with talking and discussing in class :) in fact, I've been told I do it too much.

I'm definitely on Facebook, and I'm so looking forward to being a little sister :)

I definitely remember Jo Dulan, she's pretty hard to miss.

That's really helpful, thanks :)

And I've actually been strongly considering Library Science! It's good to know that's a major that will work.

Hi, I go to Salem, and will be in your sister class. I agree with the above poster that you really have to love or hate Salem. I don't think I know anyone who is really in between. I am an arts management major/not-for-profit minor, and while those classes are interesting and informative, they are not exactly useful in the work world. Do you know what dorm you are in yet? I was in Babcock my first year, South for the second, and next year I am living in Bitting. Most of my professors were helpful, and some were not. Just let me know if you have any specific questions.
