I've only read the first Sookie stackhouse book and I must say I'm not very impressed. Somehow there's too many things that bother me in them... and the main character is just very boring as if she was just very shallow. The deviant sex thing shows already in the first book and it bothers me.

I usually love paranormal romance, vampire stories and urban fantasy but I can't say Harris' books are my favourite. I feel conflicted about the show True blood as well. I've almost given up watching it several times but then got hooked again but it really seems very different from the books.

I really was left mildly nauseous when I finished that book. But I did read the second one. It's not as bad.
From what I've read, the show does differ from the books.

I prefer Mama Anne's vampires.
