What are your favourite published novels, series, novellas or short stories featuring women in positions of power?
This can include anything where a woman is in charge, e.g. leaders in the workplace, military officers, queens and other heads of state, matriarchs, anything.
(I was going to add something BDSM-y, but I really can't figure out the plural of dominatrix...)
Rather than simply giving a title and author, give a summary of the book (or link to one), and try to explain why you're recommending it.
