That would depend. Are there games you want to play specifically? Most games are available to both, some aren't. The Kingdom Hearts franchise immediately comes to mind. KH is UMD only because Disney execs are assholes that way.

There's also the next gen PSP coming out this year and the PSP phone slated to come out in March which is pretty much the Go + Phone. Even then I'd hold off as to what Sony and publishers decide to do with legacy UMD titles since the PSP2 is switching to an SD type of game delivery mechanism that's not exactly SD but their own thing.

Pretty much this. You can download games on a regular psp as long as you have the memory card, and play the UMD games. Not every UMD game is available for download too, I know the anniversary editions of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 2 are UMD only for example, while ff7, ff8, and ff9 are download only.

I'd personally say the PSP. I personally prefer purchasing a umd over downloading games and for me I do play games that are not available for download but it depends on your preference.

Thank you girls so much!!!!!! I was leaning more to the PSP, but like mentioned in the comments I think it may better to wait and see what comes out this year. I don't want to purchase something and then regret it later. All the comments were very much appreciated. I could not thank you girls enough:)

PSP 3000 series! You don't have to spend a ton of money on downloads and you don't have to buy the special teeny-tiny mem cards for it.
