Hey just read this article here about DCUO that it's pretty much a coaster if you bought it used. Reason is, the linking key that comes with the game is a one time use thing and there's no way to unlink it or to get a new one if you bought the game 2nd hand ( Read more... )

Yup, it's true. GameStop won't take it in trade (or so says my manager, I'm waiting to hear from someone about that). And don't forget, you have to pay monthly membership! A guy came in very upset about that detail.

Isn't that par for the course with MMOs? I've never been able to buy one secondhand (unless it's pc and you buy the account).

Yeah, but that this was on console lead some people to think it could be traded in or bought 2nd hand.

There have been MMO's on consoles before, and those also had one time use codes in them. This is nothing new for an mmo. ._.

While this is standard for a mmo, it's not something that was advertised for those who are not familiar mmos. I tell everyone who wants to buy it that is like WOW for comic heroes. Several of them put it back not realizing there was monthly fee and how it was a one time code. Online to them ment a person could play their friends online.

Yeah this is pretty surprising to me, considering they marketed this game to PS3 users who haven't had a pay to play MMO on that platform yet. :/
