I got mine yesterday (damn post didn't deliver it on Friday...), and am loving it, too. AR Games are fun, but my favourite at the moment is definitely Pilotwings. Looks really good in 3D, and the controls via the circle pad are fantastic. Who needs the standard control pad? *gg* But even if I don't really use it right now, the control pad is the reason for me to send mine back to Amazon and ask for a replacement: unfortunately it doesn't respond very well if I want to go left, I really have to hit the right spot to manage that. Not good. Let's hope they'll work fast to replace it :(
Battery life is pretty much what I expected. I played for about 2 hours in 3D, a little more in 2D and then carried the 3DS on stand-by for a while whilst shopping (hoping against hope that someone nearby maybe would have StreetPass activated as well), then was down to 1 bar. But since I mostly play at home, I don't really mind.
I was skeptical of RE on the 3DS too. But oh man I changed my tune.
I got to play the demo of Resident Evil Mercenaries while at Penny Arcade Expo East this year. The game is pretty solid so far, plays just like on console. (No need for a stylus). They did add a nice feature that with holding down the shoulder buttons, you can walk and shoot at the same time. It makes going against the hordes of people a bit easier, but you can't run. Its a slower jog/quick walk.
The graphics were nothing short of awesome. The 3D can get a little overbearing while running around though, so I put it to a lower level and was fine.
Overall, its looking like its gonna be a great add on for the 3DS.
(and I got nintendogs too. French Bulldog. So amazing with the graphics!)
I really want one, but, the only way I'll be able to afford getting it is trading in my DS Lite for the discount at Gamestop. My library for DS games, however, is too big to trade in for a system that can't play them.
I got mine this morning, picked it up from Gamestop and also got Lego Star Wars III along with it. While nothing jumping out at me I certainly enjoy it. I can't wait until more games come out of it and have Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time pre-ordered.
I got mine last night at a Gamestop midnight release. I am in love with it! The AR games are simply nifty. I got Sims 3 for the 3DS and am enjoying it as well. The 3D they put into it is a lovely touch and makes the game look crisper and more fleshed out. My next game might be Samuri Warriors Chronicles. Looks neat, too!
