A couple of folks at the Geek Cons group on Facebook are having a hard time swallowing the premises of the show, and while I understand where they're coming from (American exceptionalism rules OK) I think they're missing the boat on this one.

Anyone who can't handle a low-probability story premise probably can't enjoy much geek fiction.

Certainly not much alternate history. My God, the Confederacy winning at Gettysburg and/or managing to outfight the Union long enough to trigger European intervention practically launched the alt-history field, and the chances of that happening were every bit as slim as the backstory of Dick's novel.
