None of the above! I rather loathe Timothy Hutton, and the lure of C Kane wasn't enough for me. But I love the show, I love the ensemble. And bonus points for Aldis Hodge :)
I think my main draw was Aldis Hodge myself. He was talking about the show in clips I saw from Supernatural conventions, and that was what made me watch.
Initially I heard about it (and was interested) because of Christian Kane's involvement, and then when I found out what it was about, my interest was peaked even more.
Also, finding out Gina Bellman (who I adored in the UK Jeckyll series) was in it, was another point in the show's favour.
I've always enjoyed Timothy Hutton's work. I had a huge crush on his dad, Jim, back when I was younger. I first saw Gina Bellman in Coupling. Then I saw her in Jekyll and realized how talented she was. And of course, I knew Christian from ATS. They were enough for me to watch the pilot.
I enjoy the characters and the plots. It reminds me a bit of Mission Impossible, but not so much on the side of the law. The characters are a bit damaged, but come together to form a great team. Now I love Parker and Hardison. I love the banter between the characters.
Yes. The banter is the real clincher. Especially Parker, Hardison and Eliot. The three of them are great together.
I think the show just keeps getting better and better as we get to know more about the characters. They really come over as if they care about each other, and what they are doing.
I meant to tick Gina Bellman's previous work too, cause I love Coupling. I've had a crush on Mr Kane since I first saw Secondhand Lions forever ago and when I read he and Gina Bellman were doing a show like Hustle (which is another fave) I was all over it (and by that I meant, I waited until it came out on DVD over here)
I just loved the sound of it so much. As soon as I heard about it, I just had to get my hands on it, and it didn't disappoint. Loved it from the pilot, and it just keeps getting better.
A combination of Timothy Hutton's previous work (I used to have a crush on him many years ago) and Christian Kane. But the concept intrigued me, too. I might not have continued watching if I didn't like the overall show, and I might not have started without actors I was interested in. However, aside from character chemistry, the main thing that keeps me coming back is that I love to see people being really, really good at what they do
( ... )
For me, Aldis Hodge was quite a draw. I liked him as Jake, well up until the fought and killed Sam that is. But previous to that he was quite an ally. Then I watched some clips from a convention he was at when he first started on Leverage, and that was when I started watching. Of course being in the UK we didn't hear too much about it, so that was the first I knew about it.
It is my type of show, and I love how the actors interact. My three favourites are Parker, Hardison and Eliot. Then I really don't think I'm alone in that.
It has all the right qualities. Great writing, great acting, wonderful dialogue with characters and actors who work well together. The capers are also great, and very enjoyable.
