I see Buffy is in the daily poll as physically bad arse today at IMDb, if you haven't seen it, and want to vote the link is hereSo, maybe being British, I don't really understand what Americans mean by "bad arse", but I would think she was strong, with the challenges he faced from being a slayer and what she experienced in her youth. The only time I really thought Buffy was out of line is when she refused to sacrifice Dawn to stop Glory.

It made absolutely no sense to me. She would let the world be destroyed to save Dawn when the world being destroyed would kill Dawn anyway? Huh?

No, apart from a strong frewell to WB before changing networks, it wasn't a good decision.

"Bad arse" sounds quite off to my American ears...part of the charm of that phrase is the fact that Bad and Ass have the same vowel sound...

And I think Buffy was much stronger physically than emotionally, there are very few decisions that she made after S4 that I was 100% behind. Bring on the flames!

Ummmm! Maybe that is why it doesn't quite work for me either. Even if it is spelled Ass, in my head I pronouce it arse.

Oh I think she made a few good decisions in the later seasons, in the early ones she was quite influnced, mainly by Giles.

I'm just getting into Buffy, but it looks like I have a fun ride ahead of me. So, yeah, no opinion yet, but I'm looking forward to being able to form one. :)

Oh yes, she matures a lot over the seasons. I personally liked where she ended up.

Bad Ass is a term that means you don't mess with that person. That they are strong and will kick your ass up and down if you piss them off. I was confused when you used the term bad arse. Then I checked the link. LOL.

All the slayers in the series were different. Buffy was the most successful one. She was able to defeat more of the bad guys than the other slayers on the show. Buffy had a better support system than Faith, Kendra or Nikki. They were really on their own most of the time. The Council really didn't care if they lost a slayer. Another one would be called quickly if one got killed. Younger slayers were easier to control. Buffy wasn't ever under the thumb of the Council. Her family, friends and her attitude were what gave her the edge to live.

I thought that was what it meant, but really, with humans, Buffy was very gentle. Then I guess she had to be with her slayer powers.

Yes, Buffy had a good support system, it was one of the strengths to her survival. Also having two vampires on her side at different times helped as well. The other slayers didn't have an Angel or Spike on their side either.
