Oh RTD! *shakes head*

Ok, so RTD has pissed off some fans with Season Three CoE on Torchwood. With Season Three Torchwood came of age, but might've left some fans behind from the rather silly programme it was in season One and Two. Ok, not so say there were not plot holes you could hold an M6 traffic jam in, but did have some undercurrents you had to think about, and ( Read more... )

I understand the need to shock and slam the heart of fans to get a reaction, but to kill off Ianto is going to turn off a great many of the fans. Ratings are huge thing in the US. Poor ratings are the death of a series here. Not sure how the ratings effect shows in the UK. Not sure if I would watch Torchwood with Jack and Gwen. I hate Gwen with a burning passion. Love Ianto, Tosh and Owen so most of my favs were killed off. Rumors are that James Marsters cost too much for Torchwood to use again. What is left for me to set aside time to watch Torchwood now?

I'll watch True Blood and give Being Human a chance instead. New show called Vampire Diaries is about to start here on the same channel as Supernatural and Smallville. So with a new Dr and Torchwood killing off my favs makes me want to spend less time watching BBCAmerica.

Well, Buffy was cancelled here for poor ratings, but brought back later, but that was on BBC2, BBC1 is more popularist. It stands a better chance than if it was on ITV, which has to depend on ads. It maybe down to the cost of making the programme for the BBC, which is why I don't hold my breath for JM coming back.

I really like Leverage, so am happy watching that. I tend to avoid the popularist BBC1 and ITV, as the other channels have more interesting programmes.

It's all my fault. Every character I fall in love with always gets killed off. So I am responsible for Ianto's death. :(

I would give TW a chance if they do a new series but I may not enjoy it as much.

I was upset about Ianto but what chaps my hide is RTD's attitude torwards the crazed fans who are upset. He should have known that he was going to get a lot of critizism for killing off the most beloved character on TW. Now he is going to upset a whole new fandom of people (SPN). He isn't going to do well here in the states if he keeps this attitude up.

Of course it isn't your fault, it was just a bad decision by the creative team.

I think RTD is in for a rude awakening, and his attitude is just going to annoy people. Talking down to them is not the way to go.

But then again RTD, having annoyed so many people, even if you get another season, how many are going to stick around to watch it?

I have to say not me.

His recent interviews have put me off more than what he did in the series to be honest.
