Disillusioned!

Ok, looking at my fandoms, I'm wondering if I really want anything to do with the fandoms. Or how they are going ( Read more... )

Ok let's see... I have no idea what the comics are about (and I'm proud of it) but by the sound of it.. no, I wouldn't want Spike there either *shakes head*

SPN... I love the show but I'm not into the fandom side of it. But I seriously cannot imagine why would someone be after Sam's blood. I mean, I'm a Dean girl as you know, but I *adore* Sammy and frankly, if you love Dean, you can't not love Sam too! Those two are like one!! And maybe Sam will turn evil, for a moment, but 1) Dean would *never* harm him in any way and 2) Sam's innate goodness will always win imo. Nothing can change that.

Doctor Who... why should it become shippy? Eleven is too young to even be allowed to kiss someone! LOL! Jokes aside... I'm waiting to see but I already know I'll miss Ten *nods*

Torchwood. No bashing on my part because you know I hate bashing. But hon, I have to tell you: you will *never* find a good word about Gwen on my LJ. She seriously bugs me. So she will either be ignored or I'll rant over something she said/did that annoyed me. Sorry...

Just as well you stayed away from the comics I think!

The SPN fandom is full of wank, and some Dean fans who think to show their loyalty to Dean they should bash Sam. That is why I stay away from it. Apart from a few Sam friendly communities!

Will wait and see with Dr Who!

I really disliked Gwen in Season One, but warmed a bit to her in Season Two! Not a great fan of Gwen, but not as bad as I first thought.

It really is more the actor bashing that gets me angry!

Honestly I've been avoiding every fandom including most Spuffy fandom because they all go to extremes I'm not comfortable with.

I'm the type of person to go with the flow of a show (heh rhymes). I give the writers a lot of leeway as long as the show is consistently good (which excludes Smallville and Heroes but I can't seem to top watching them anyway). Moat all fandom spends entirely too much time bitching about storylines and softening the blows of conflict and that ruins my experience.

I stick to reading flist, which is fort he most part full of other people who go with the flow.

Yes, some fandoms can be so full of wank you wonder how much time people have to waste. Just enjoy them for what they are.

I think I should just stick to my flist as well, and not follow any links. *ties hands behind back*

All fandoms are full of utter and complete d**k heads.

Of obsessive wan***rs who have their own idea of pairings and shippings and blah yada blah.

Of people that cant cope with the reality of cause and effect (NO ANGST! NO ANGST!) in their show as long as their resident hunk looks sexy at least once in the ep.

Full of them.

Which is why I dip my toe in now and then and keep away mostly LOL

Not that I'm bitter.

Fandom is just so full of wank! Why do I bother.....because people post links, even although I am not on a board or a friend of the person, my finger itches to read!

I am a fool to myself!

*hugs*

hehe I just learned to stay away from the fray and navigate wisely and read no comments left to anything. Cos wank wank wank wank is what fandom is full of. All of them. hehehe

Yes, sometimes I think some people watch a different show from me! Or can only handle the most shallow of the message, and the deeper ones get lost on them!

Doesn't help that so often I don't agree with the characterisation either!

I want none of the ATS crew to have anything to do with BTVS. From what I've seen of the appearances of Angel, Spike and Cordelia there I cringe. I don't really mind Harmony as I never really considered her a Angel character.

I don't know I like Spike being part of Angel Investigations. He fits there so much better than with the Scoobies. There Illyria, Connor, Lorne in the comics and even Angel that he's close to. I want to see more of them. Maybe have Spike on his own for a little while but not too long.

I don't want any of AtS on BtVS either. I want IDW to keep them, and will happily never give Dark Horse another penny! Dislike Dark Horse to what could be called hate!

Yes, Spike fits in far better with AI, and the general tone of the show. BtVS is too young and only concerned with Black and White, with Spike is more a gray character

Dunno if anyone has said this yet (30 comments!! Blimey!) but have you noticed with Doctor Who that in the classic series, the Doctor doesn't really get involved with anyone. I mean, he shows affection towards his mates and companions, but he doesn't make out with every person he allows on the TARDIS. In the new series, it's like the doctor has become a Time whore and is simply going about, kissing everyone and starting relationships that always end badly.

It IS shippy, you're right. And it's damned annoying. I think Torchwood is a bit shippy too, I mean, with Jack and Ianto and that. I'm not a big Jack/Ianto fan. I like both of the characters and the pairing is obvious and rather boring. That's just my opinion though. Hopefully it will get better and I still have a bit of faith left for Doctor Who when it comes back full force.

The Old Doctor was pretty much Asexual, he did show affection, but not getting involved in relationships. That is something the new Doctor does, which I'm not keen on. I think it has been overdone already.

With Torchwood, I was ready for it to be shippy, with Jack being there. I fully expected that. So I'm ok with that. There are other things that happen on Torchwood that grate more than shippiness!
