I was talking to tamibrandt and we came up with an idea for some hurt and lonely Angel after watching Conner and Cordelia together in "Habeas Corpses", and wishing he had a little comfort at the time, and no-one would be better to provide that comfort than Spike. I was going to post it for my day at noel_of_spike, but I have a slightly more Christmassy idea for that one ( Read more... )

Oh I loved this! Finally they both have someone who can understand, they're not alone anymore. They're just where they belong! I'm a sap but I love my boys this way...

See, this is why they are soulmates -- Angel and Spike -- they understand each other at the deepest level. Have seen each other at their absolute worst and best.

I really felt they were heading toward something in Season 5 as they got to know each other as souled vampires, respected each other and what made them them, tease each other and yell and fight, yet still respect each other.

They are the perfect for each other, and no one else can give them what they can give to each other.

Okay, done gushing now. BTW, I loved this story.

Yes through the pain and suffering, and also the mistrust of the humans, they know what the other feels. At a deeper level. The humans just don't know what they have been tho' and how much guilt they suffer. Or how difficult it must be to try and do good with a demon still there!
