a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.

I created him, so I didn't really have a choice. From the moment I started writing him in short pieces, he just sort of wanted to talk to a larger audience, and I just had a compulsion. It was more instinct than anything else.

b. One of his/her best traits.

He has a very noble and solid code of ethics and he sticks to it. A lot of people make excuses, or claim to believe in things and then don't, so it's good that he can stick to his guns.

c. One of his/her worst traits.

Sometimes I wish he would be the big hero and come out and do something really amazing. It's weird to write someone who is so low-key. But if he were a big hero, he wouldn't be Randy, so I just try to find other ways to express that he really is a heroic character.

d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.Randy is remarkably easy to write. I usually can skim a prompt list or a news page and know immediately what he'll talk about, which doesn't happen with other muses ( ... )

The only thing that can be hard is that he is so against the type of muses I normally write, who are much more forceful characters who kick in the doors and save the day.

lol, That's my Murphy right there.

Yay for Randy staying around! Murphy would miss him if he left.

And there's nothing wrong with that! Although I think it gives Randy a unique perspective because he doesn't have that capacity.

Oh, trust me, he just doesn't wanna shush himself.

Since Randy was already requested, how about Jen Chambers?

Oh and, just cuz I was reading your comments to Connie's mun - if you ever want to set something up RP-wise between Chuck and Randy, I think that might be fun.

And I had to giggle at the nerd in the rockstar body comment. *g*

Ooh, this is a fun one.

a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.

I'm just a big Traveler fan, period. And I was discussing her character and the fact that it sucked we didn't get to see her, because that would be a big part of Chambers' life and I adore his character. So Lara/Jay mun sort of needled me until I started thinking about who she might be, and the idea germinated from there. I could have it totally wrong, but have never gotten the guts to go ask David DiGilio and find out.

b. One of his/her best traits.

Jen's not afraid to leap first and ask questions later. She has a kind of fearlessness that is really cool, in that she just knows what she's doing is right and she's going to go do it no matter what.

c. One of his/her worst traits.

This also gives her kind of a bitchy attitude at times.

d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.

It can be a chore, sometimes. She's not well developed and all of us Traveler muns haven't done much RPing with the muses, so her canon ( ... )

Neat. :) I do like that ficlet you posted for question e too.

And when writing a canon muse, I've always found it harder when the source material isn't still fresh in my memory.

ITA.

It's always really hard for me to do, I dunno. I used to write a few muses from cancelled shows and once they went off the air, my brain just went dead.
