Maybe. I've almost never noticed any relationship between dreams and real life. My dreams are almost always completely unrelated to anything at all. Just random brain-junk. Which is why I'm so sceptical about this.

I may also be grasping at straws. This would be my last chance to compete as a beginner and get that experience...but to do it, I'd have to have a very intense month of cramming in basically a whole year's worth of learning, and I don't honestly think I can do it. I'm kind of pissed off about it.

Why not just do it? I mean. . . you could go hyper-competitive and then beat yourself up if you don't win (and I could add ribald commentary there about "beating yourself up" but I won't, heh)

OR

you could go into as "It'll be good to have this experience, win or lose or whatever, then next time I'll know what to expect or at least I can say I tried it once".

The latter is, of course, the version for which I'd find the most support.
