I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thought it, and I probably would've thought it sooner if I hadn't been so focused on the other angel...
Throw in the facts that the Leviathan are always described as great sea serpents and that Gabriel is also Loki and Loki has a giant sea serpent as a kid, there could be some interesting things they could do with this if they decide to go there.
Now there is an interesting twist I hadn't thought of...if Gabriel isn't available( but please let him be),maybe his half archangel sea serpent kid could be the answer. You know what they say, fight fire with fire, or in this case, giant sea serpents with giant sea serpents (and if nothing else, another great fic idea)
It would be awesome! Maybe Dr. Sexy was a clue? :)
I was just thinking, Heaven's got to be pretty desolate, these days. How many angels are left? Any? And if there are, they'd be the ones willing to follow Godstiel, so...
Yeah, I had a brief moment of reflection my (third? fourth?) rewatch of 7.01 about the depopulating of Heaven there. And it may not only be the ones willing to follow Gostiel but maybe a few who are clever enough to just keep their heads down and out of everything. Who knows? But yeah, the heavenly host is gotta be feeling a little thin nowadays.
And speaking of angels being clever enough to keep their heads down, if Gabriel did maybe fake his death against Lucifer and then went underground, the way things are going now (including depopulating heaven) might be enough for him to come out of hiding.
There is definitely a plot bunny or three in there for ficcers, but I don't that Show is going to be sweet to us and bring Gabriel back. They seem to delight in torturing fans of the supporting characters...
I'm not going to hold my breath, but then again they do also love to bring back the dead fan favorites when they can so it's not out of the realm of possibility. And they have to know that Gabriel is one of the most popular supporting characters they've ever had.
