I adore this fic. It's got the right mix of silliness, drama and Gabriel-being-awesome and I just loved reading it. I adored the Irish guard dog (I seriously need to look up more of those myths, speaking of Ireland. I've no idea who Lugh is, for example) and this entire thing made me smile.
Lugh's definitely an interesting character in Irish myth, (though I've taken a few liberties with him here (in the best SPN myth mangling tradition *halo*)). The harvest celebration Lughnasadh is named for him.
So glad you liked it -- I haven't had this much fun writing a fic in ages. Gabriel-being-awesome I think is my favourite type of fic right now. :D
This was SO MUCH FUN!!!!! *FLAILS* I knew bits and pieces, the teasers you sent me, but putting it all together... OMG I LOVE THIS!!!!!! The brotherly bonding was just epic, completely and totally EPIC, and the BANTER!!!! *MORE FLAILING* I can't even TELL you how much love I have for you using the Celtic pantheon, and WTF OMG LUCKY CHARMS BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! And Gabe standing up to Raphael kdhgfhg;aokjgalkdjh;ojghaidfjhgslidfhg;dfh!!!!!! And you even managed to get WINGS in there!!!!!
Seriously, this was wonderful from start to finish, I had so much fun reading it!!!! And now I'm going to sit and give you puppy-dog eyes until I see the sequel where Cas meets Gabriel's kids. Great job, hun, I don't think anyone could have possibly pulled off that prompt better!!
*grin* The Lucky Charms thing was just one of those crazy thoughts that come into my head when I'm writing Gabriel. But then when I read up on them I found that there had actually been a hidden key marshmallow a few years back and there was no way I couldn't use that. Though I am sorry I wasn't able to work in a line about Gabriel's grace being "magically delicious".
Glad you enjoyed it. :D The banana peel is just one of those things that pop into my head on the spur of the moment when I'm writing Gabriel. He does weird things to my brain. :D
