What's happiness?

Jun 10, 2013 02:52

Short and sweet now since it's 2.45am (-___-") and I've got a lesson tomorrow: I write this series called "What's happiness?" to make myself count my blessings regularly and concentrate on the good things. The things I put there are usually just little things or moments that make me think "awesome, how great is my life!". Turns out it's very good ( Read more... )

Awww, those are both very nice things. My bookcase has always been an important part of every room I've had--I'd like to have a library room one day.

A library room sounds so awesome! Though I think mine would be more of an office since there's all this work-crap too, instruments and recording stuff and all that.
But oh, your own library and a good arm chair and wine and locked door.. Cliche, but works!

I like both of your items. Especially having your own bookcase--very important to one's happiness!

My girlfriend cooked dinner for us today. I'm usually the cook in our household and I enjoy cooking, but today I was feeling tired at dinnertime and she offered to do it. It's a pretty simple thing, but it made me happy to have her take care of me in that way.

Yep, the bookshelf is an essential part of a home.

It's the best to have someone take it out of yout hands when you most need it:)

I really want to do a happiness jar of some kind. Thanks for reminding me. It'll make an excellent addition to my dorm next year.

I've had moments standing around with co-workers and noticed we had the same posture. And when April and I were sitting around, she pointed out that we were both waving our feet.

That kind of subtle pack behaviour really has me interested, especially because non-verbal communication comes more naturally for me in situations like that. But I think this kind of mimicing takes someone you're comfortable with?

Yeah, I've actually read that mimicking someone that way can get them to like you, so it might be an unconscious desire to establish or keep a friendship. It is kinda interesting. :)

Oh, I haven't heard about that before! Makes sense, he's a good friend of mine. I met him today too, and the same thing happened again, only this time I paid attention :D

that is such a nice idea!

I guess there are a lot of things that make me happy. What made me happy today was that one of my students came up to me and thanked me for having been the best teacher she's ever had. :)

That's super! Being a teacher is such a responsibility, you can have such an influence on the kids! (how old are your students by the way?) Being good at it must feel great.

A friend of mine is an Austrian kindergarten teacher, and she says her job is under-valued and underpaid there, and that things were much different, in a good way, in Finland. Does that apply to being a teacher as well?
