How to handle Household chores

We're discussing how to handle the various household chores at TELS and have found two options so far.
  1. The Shiny Economy from Plan B. Anyone have a link to this? I was looking around and didn't find it.
  2. Chore Wars. I know a number of people have been using this. I'd be interested in opinions if you're willing to share.

Yep, nothing will motivate unless people actually want to do things. But I think it is good to keep an accounting of what is done by people that are willing to do them. That's the problem I think it is designed to address.

My problem is that I sit in front of the computer to procrastinate doing the chores. So Chore Wars quickly added to the problem.

I love Chore Wars. It definitely works better for people who have an overachieving or competitive streak. If I see that someone else in my party has gotten a bunch of points lately I start looking around the house for things to clean.

... and if I can't find any, I start looking for opportunities at other houses.

Many of the folks here like the leveling up bit in games, so we're hoping this might help at least account for what -does- get done.
