How the entries look

I'm curious if people find the gaming post I just made to be too ugly. There's only so much one can do with HTML/CSS but maybe I can do something. It puts it in an ugly white box but I figured that was better than having the red or the blue be hard to read on backgrounds that are too close to the colors that I specified. I wanted to draw

what color would you suggest? I just took red since it's a primary color.
I wonder if green would be contrasting enough. I want to remember more color theory from CHI class...

If you go to the dates of gaming, you'll see it's in a white box, at least if you don't have a normally white background...

I don't understand the green being preferred to the red. The red and the blue seem to be at about the same level/same brightness. To me, the green looks like it's further back on the page than the blue. I'm guessing because it has less brightness to me.

But it doesn't matter much to me and others have strong opinions on red...

i never saw it in red... but i like the green and blue alternating.
