So I chatted with the company manger today and feel much better about my job.  I found out that Justin said if it came down to a “me or him” thing that they could give his hours to me.  I am really feeling a lot better about that and I really appreciate him saying that.  I also feel better because she mentioned that I am more useful all around the ( Read more... )

glad to hear your job is secure! =) If I may offer a suggestion for cutting down on food expenses?

What I ususally do or have my sweetie do is buy snacks that are easy to prep and can be taken to work to munch on later, i.e. cheese and crackers, tuna and crackers (triscuts or wheat thins), bananas and apples with peanut butter, maybe buy a precut veggie tray and just take a few veggies and some already made salsa or ranch dressing with you in a baggie?

Another thing that's helped me is if I'm cooking that night, I try to make enough to save for a leftover and take it with me to work the next day.

I don't know what your time constraints are, but sometimes also, if you try to plan what you want to eat for the week at work, it will help you figure out what you have available to you and what you can get creative with.

Hope all is well and take care! See you at Dickens on Saturday hopefully!

I keep rigorous track of how much money I spend at Faire. The way I do it is to start the weekend with a fixed amount of money (usually $100) on me, and then see how much I have at the end of each day. Knowing how much I spent lets me go back through my memory and figure out how I spent it.

Even if you don't keep track of exactly how you spent it, you can still start the day / week with a fixed amount of money, and then keep track of how much is left. That will tell you your cash "burn rate". You get a credit card bill that tells you how much you spent there.

So with a little bit of effort you can figure out how much you're spending each month. Once you've got that, then you can decide if it's worth the effort to figure out where you're spending it.

hugs.
