My School has wireless but for some reason my laptop can’t connect.  I mean ti can get online but I can’t get to the login page so I can use it.  Things would be a lot easier for me if I could use it anywhere.  I mean the computers in the school library are nice but I need something more.  Then again that fucking thing is heavy.

I've got a G4 laptop. 5 years old at this point; it still runs, though slowly; the hard drive needs to be completely rebooted. Suffice to say, the G4's durable, but 7 years? You may find that it's becoming hard to use it for real work sometime soon.

Think it can last another 3 semesters? I just check email, facebook and writing in word.

It'll last another year and a half. Just don't be surprised if it starts getting some glitches. The Apple store's Genius Bar
is very good - they can fix most superficial problems in a few minutes, and they'll change you zero for it; just as long as there's no prolonged labor or needed parts.

I had the same problem when I first used my laptop at USF. If you send an email to the ITS service, they sometimes have to reset/setup something on the account to allow you to use the wireless service. they sorted it out minutes after I emailed them.

When it comes to Macs, the new MacBooks are indeed out. And are very shiny. 7 years is pushing it slightly, I'd say, and the LAST THING you want is for it to give up in the middle of a final or something...
