3. Garlic Fingers.

That's right. They don't have them out here. They don't even exist as far west as Ontario, so they REALLY don't have them out here. You know, the prevailing food choices in Van sound really nice... for a while. And then the craving for good old-fashioned greasy cheesy carb-loaded comfort food would kick in, and I'd leap up from the sushi bar screaming "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

Maybe it's because Van doesn't really have winter, they haven't needed to invent high-calorie convenience comfort foods that will sustain your drunk ass for the walk home from downtown during a blizzard in February? 'Cause you certainly wouldn't get very far fueled by a thin crust spinach pizza.

That's a good thought. Maybe the lack of winter does have an effect on the food choices.

It's very California-esque out here. People even swear less out here. I'm considered foul mouthed, in Vancouver!
